James Carr
O.S. United Coach since 2005. James Played college basketball for the University of Minnesota-Morris, where he was a two year starter and team Captain. He Graduate in 2007 with a Degree in Secondary Education. In 2007 and 2008 he played Professional basketball for the Taupo Volcanoes in New Zealand's CBL. James was the only American Import who was not from a Division 1 school in the CBL. While there he averaged 20 pts/game and 6 assts/game, while being named team MVP twice.
On the coaching side of things, James has coached in Elk River (9th grade), Minnetonka (8th grade A), and is currently the 10th grade Princeton Coach.
Jon Hodge
O.S. United Coach since 2006. Jon was the starting point guard for Barnesville High School in the 2002-2003 season. He was recruited to play College basetball, but decided to focus on his education. Jon Graduated from SCSU with a degree in Physical Education.
Jon is currently the 8th Grade A coach in the Anoka Traveling Program.
Aaron Bring
O.S. United coach since 2008. Aaron was a star player for Big Lake High School in 2002-2003. Aaron also recently graduated from SCSU with a Degree in Physical Education, and is Currently teaching in Big Lake.
While Student Teaching at Foley High School, Aaron was named the JV Basketball coach. While there he received nothing but the highest of praise from all; Parent, players and fellow coaches. Last year Aaron Coached our top 11th grade team.
Matt Mihlbauer
Matt has been obsessed with basketball since the age of 7, when his father took him to see an NBA playoff game between his hometown Milwaukee Bucks and the Detroit "Bad Boy" Pistons. Matt played in high school for Milwaukee King, and has acted as a player/coach on over 10 different intramural and mens recreation league teams in 4 different cities. He has also coached a team of 11th and 12th graders through the Boys & Girls Club in Madison, Wisconsin. Matt received his Psychology degree from the University of Wisconsin in 2004, and went on to obtain his Masters in Social Work at Portland State University in 2009.
He is looking forward to his first season as an OS United coach.
Kub Vang
Kub played four years at point guard for Superior High School in Superior, Wisconsin. After Superior, he came down to the cities to attend the University of Minnesota. He is currently working towards his degree in Kinesiology. He coached his church's youth team last year where he had great success. He still currently plays Intramural Basketball at the U of M. Kub will be a great addition to our staff.
15u, 16u, and 17u tryouts will be at Cooper High School in New hope, Mn on March 27th.
15u: noon to 1:20 16u: 1:20 to 2:40 17u: 2:40 to 4:00
The tryout fee is $5 dollars. Be sure to where a reversible jersey with a number on it. The times for tryouts will be as follows. Make sure to arrive 10-15 minutes early to sign up.
Tryouts for 12u, 13u, and 14u will take place at Rogers Middle School on March 28th. 12u: 12:00 to 1:20 13u: 1:20 to 2:40 14u: 2:40 to 4:00
