Goals

We stress the ideas of Game flow/rhythm and basketball IQ. Many opponents have pointed to the fact that our players, “know how to play the game.”  We analyze every players’ game to see what he/she is good at, and what he/she needs to improve upon.  Once we know their skill set, we utilize every player according to what they can do, and we improve upon skills that are laking.  Our coaches are instilled on the train of thought,

“Focus on what you can do, improve upon what you can’t”

Confidence is another mainstay in our program.  If you play with the mindset, “I am not as good as this guy”, you have no chance of achieving your goals.  You have to have confidence to play tight defense, you have to have the confidence to take a 3 point shot with a hand in your face.  Of course every players’ skill set is different and you need to know your limitations, but the mind set stays the same, you need to believe you are a better player than your opponent.  Your opponent might be quicker, stronger, taller, etc.  But if all of those things equaled wins, the only players in the NBA would be 7’0” tall.  Everywhere you look there are successful people in Basketball and life who were once told, “you are not good enough,” but they had the confidence to keep working towards and achieving their goals.

Our goals for every player are as follows:

  • Improve basketball knowledge and IQ
  • Instill confidence
  • Teacher every player every position (positional based skills transfer to all assets of the game, i.e. dribbling, ball fakes,  footwork, etc
  • Improve every players self-motivation to get better
To achieve these goals we will come to practice with detailed practice plans, which will implement proven training strategies. These strategies will improve every players games by leaps and bounds.
